COOLY DEFINITELY ROCKS ON
Cars, fashion, jazz, and dancing.
Visited Coolangatta last weekend to experience Cooly Rocks On for the first time. While I’m not particularly into cars, the over 900 vehicles on display were truly remarkable. Thankfully, I brought my film camera to capture the unique spirit of this beautiful event. My partner and I spent three hours strolling around, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, admiring the showcased cars, and enjoying the classical jazz music filling the streets as women danced in their polka dot dresses.
Stepping into a world filled with vintage cars feels like entering designer heaven, where every curve, line, and colour tells a story of artistry and craftsmanship. Each classic vehicle showcases the meticulous attention to detail that defined an era, from the sleek chrome finishes to the elegant upholstery. The interplay of form and function in these automotive masterpieces evokes a profound appreciation for design as more than just aesthetics—it's a celebration of history and creativity. As the sunlight glints off polished surfaces, inspiration flows freely, stirring the imagination and igniting a passion for the timeless beauty that only vintage cars can embody.
All photographs were shot on my Canon Eos 500n using Fuji 200 film. The film photos captured a stunning interplay of colour and light, revealing the rich vibrancy characteristic of the Fuji film. Each image showcased the warm hues and soft contrasts, resulting in a nostalgic yet lively appearance.
If you are an art lover, make sure to attend this event in the future and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere it has to offer.
